Thorough Examination
Thorough Examination is a systematic, detailed examination of lifting equipment and vehicular components by a competent person to detect any defects. This examination is required to meet the obligations under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
Summary Of The Service
National Auditing and Training are an approved CFTS Thorough Examination centre, which gives our customers the guarantee that our examiners are competent. The examination required will differ depending on the type of equipment/machine.Â
National Auditing and Training will ensure that the Thorough Examination comprehensively cover both the lifting and the driving mechanisms of the equipment/machine. A comprehensive report of our findings, together with guidance on how to overcome any shortcomings we identify will be provided. If the thorough examination is successful, a certificate will also be provided.
Duration
Equipment must receive a Thorough Examination at least once a every 12 months. However, examinations could be required more often depending on the type of equipment/ machine and its use.
The length of time taken to complete a Thorough Examination is dependent on the type of equipment/ machine and the number of items to be examined.
