Course Summary

This ITSSAR accredited course will provide the delegate theoretical and practical knowledge on how to safely operate a Forward Tipping Dumper.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course the delegate will be able to:

  • Responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974)
  • Safe operator practices (Company Mobile Plant Rules if on customer premises)
  • Daily and weekly maintenance schedules
  • Identification of components and pre-start checks
  • Start-up procedures
  • Factors affecting stability
  • Motive and hydraulic controls
  • Manoeuvring in open and confined spaces (level and rough terrain)
  • Loading and tipping procedures
  • Banksman signalling
  • Discharging materials into trench-work
  • Travelling on inclines
  • Travelling on the public highway
  • Working on stock-piles
  • Re-fuelling procedures
  • Parking and post-stop checks

Certification

Delegates will be awarded an ITSSAR certificate of attendance and, will be registered on the TOPS scheme.

If required, an ITSSAR ID card can also be provided at an additional charge.
