NAT Harness and Fall Arrest

Course Summary

This course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely at a height using a harness, lanyard or other fall protection equipment. It also gives delegates a sound understanding of how to properly maintain, inspect and keep records of the equipment being used.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be able to answer and perform the following:

  • Legislation
  • Locate and identify major components of the harness/fall arrest system and explain their functions
  • Conduct all safety checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements Select a suitable type of harness/fall arrest system relative to the work being undertaken Correctly fit and remove (including inspection of equipment, identifying defects / damage, storage & documentation)
  • Carry out end of work inspections
  • Storage of harness/fall arrest

Assessment

Theory question paper.

Practical assessment.

Certification

Delegates will be awarded a National Auditing and Training certificate of attendance, valid for 3 years.
